PEI Bees

Pollinating PEI one flower at a time

Welcome to PEI Bees

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to keep bees?  Have you ever been stung by a bee and live to talk about it?

Beekeeping on PEI is not as difficult as it seems.  Bees are highly intelligent creatures and function as a colony harmoniously with one another.  There is so much to know about the honeybee – so much that as a new beekeeper you can feel utterly overwhelmed by the amount of information available.

Hello, my name is Troy Fraser and I’m a father, husband, web designer and a beekeeper.  I’ve created this website for a variety of reasons, but first and foremost, to transfer my knowledge of bees on PEI to you – the beginner.  I’m not going to claim I know everything about bees nor will I ever.  My road to learning about bees has been all over the place.  YouTube, Books, Webinars, Blogs, Forums and sending emails to whoever will respond.

The single most important thing about starting beekeeping that you should know is that no video, book or website will give you the knowledge and experience you need as a mentor.  Finding a mentor on PEI is not that easy because there are not very many beekeepers on PEI.  So… I created a Facebook group called “PEI Bees” check it out and join.

I hope you find the information on this website useful.  If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me and I’d be happy to help!
